Locally-based fusesport, which creates the platform used by some of the world’s leading sports organizations and major sporting events to plan, manage and analyze their events, announced Ian Fitzpatrick has accepted the position of chief operating officer.

fusesport relocated its corporate headquarters from Australia to Colorado Springs in 2013 as part of its global expansion. Prior to joining fusesport in 2013 as vice president of operations, Fitzpatrick served as the head of the Australian Masters Games, a multisport event with more than 10,000 participants. He has also held executive roles at other international sports groups, working to deliver events for more than 60 sports.

In his role as COO, Fitzpatrick will be responsible for all global operations for the high-growth software company, which is expanding at a high rate – close to 1000 percent last year.

“We are delighted to have Ian leading our team as we move into the next exciting phase of growth. He is one of the world’s leading professionals in the industry, and as such will ensure we continue to meet and exceed expectations for our customers” said Chris Clark, founder and CEO.

As part of this restructuring, former COO Kurt Aichele has accepted a position as the founder and CEO of 2Thrive, a nonprofit which aims to encourage health and wellbeing through sports participation. The group’s work includes building the U.S. presence for the London-based Corporate Games.

“We wish Kurt well as he aims to extend the work started during his time at fusesport, within the auspices of the new nonprofit,” said Clark.

“At fusesport, we’re motivated by how we can help impact communities via sport, and we’re doing this on a global scale. Great technology is just a tool we use to make it happen,” said Fitzpatrick.
